ΠΑΡΟΥΣΙΑΣΗ ΑΠΟΤΕΛΕΣΜΑΤΩΝ ΕΡΕΥΝΑΣ ΣΧΕΤΙΚΑ ΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΓΕΝΕΤΙΚΗ ΑΝΑΛΥΣΗ ΤΩΝ ΣΤΕΛΕΧΩΝ SARS-COV-2 ΤΗΣ ΛΟΙΜΩΞΗΣ COVID-19 ΣΤΗΝ ΚΥΠΡΟ

Στο πλαίσιο της επιστημονικής έρευνας για την ανάλυση και την πορεία του κορωνοϊού στην Κύπρο, ο Καθηγητής Φίλιππος Πατσαλής, Γενικός Εκτελεστικός Διευθυντής και Ιατρικός Διευθυντής της βιοτεχνολογικής εταιρείας NIPD Genetics και ο Καθηγητής Λεόντιος Κωστρίκης, Επικεφαλής του Ερευνητικού Εργαστηρίου Βιοτεχνολογίας και Μοριακής Ιολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου, θα παρουσιάσουν τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας για τη γενετική ανάλυση των στελεχών SARS-CoV-2 στην Κύπρο, από τον Μάρτιο του 2020 μέχρι τον Ιανουάριο του 2021.
Η έρευνα αποτελεί επιστημονική συνεργασία δημόσιου και ιδιωτικού τομέα, δηλ. του Εργαστηρίου Βιοτεχνολογίας και Μοριακής Ιολογίας του Παν. Κύπρου και της NIPD Genetics, αντίστοιχα. Πραγματοποιήθηκε με χρηματοδότηση από την εκστρατεία του Παν. Κύπρου «Η έρευνα σώζει ζωές», από τα ερευνητικά προγράμματα (ΙδΕΚ) του Καθ. Λεόντιου Κωστρίκη και από την επιστημονική - οικονομική συνεισφορά της NIPD Genetics.
Η παρουσίαση θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Παρασκευή 19 Φεβρουαρίου 2021, στις 11:30 π.μ. και θα λάβει χώρο στην αίθουσα Συγκλήτου, αρ. 115, στον 1ο όροφο στο Κτήριο Συμβουλίου-Συγκλήτου «Αναστάσιος Γ. Λεβέντης» στη Πανεπιστημιούπολη (Λεωφ. Πανεπιστημίου 1, Αγλαντζιά).

In the context of scientific research into the development of COVID-19 pandemic in Cyprus, Professor Philippos Patsalis, Chief Executive Director and Chief Medical Officer of the Biotechnology Company NIPD Genetics and Professor Leontios Kostrikis, Head of the Biotechnology and Molecular Virology Research Laboratory of the University of Cyprus, will present the research on the genetic analysis of SARS-CoV-2 strains in Cyprus, between March 2020 and January 2021.
This research is a public-private scientific collaboration, between NIPD Genetics and the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Molecular Virology of the University of Cyprus, respectively. It was funded by the University of Cyprus's "Research Saves Lives" campaign, from the research programs (RIF) of Prof. Leontios Kostrikis and the scientific- financial contribution of NIPD Genetics.
The presentation will take place on Friday, February 19, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at the Senate hall, No. 115, on the 1st floor of the Council-Senate Building "Anastasios G. Leventis" at the Campus (University Avenue 1, Aglantzia).
Greeting will be addressed by the Rector of the University of Cyprus, Professor Tasos Christofides and will be covered by television and journalists.
